Things to do!!!!

We love this place for a reason and hope you all get to see the sights while you’re in town. Below are some options (we may have dragged a lot of you on a few of these before but hopefully there’s something new for everyone):

Classic Fun for the Whole Family
Mutter Museum (let me know if you need tickets!) – Philly’s world famous medical museum/creep show. Skeletons, things in jars, giant colons, The Mutter has it all. And I work there! http://muttermuseum.org/
The Philadelphia Zoo – Nice natural setting, animals abound, etc: http://www.philadelphiazoo.org/
Philadelphia Museum of Art – Definitely one of the best around. If you haven’t been don’t miss it: http://philamuseum.org/
Independence Hall/Liberty Bell – The Hall and the Bell both sit in the oldest continuous residential neighborhood in the country (a UNESCO World Heritage Site!). Very evocative: http://www.nps.gov/inde/index.htm
Italian Market – Everyone loves an outdoor market but the Italian Market has a vibe all it’s own. Fresh produce? Check. Live Birds? Check. Five for a dollar tube socks? Check. Check it out: http://www.phillyitalianmarket.com/
(Highly Recommended!) Smith Playground – I can’t say enough about this Playground/Play Mansion. If you have kids, go!: http://smithkidsplayplace.org/
Please Touch Museum – Another one for the kids over in Farimount Park: http://www.pleasetouchmuseum.org/
Franklin Institute – The Franklin has good touring exhibits but they’re expensive. See what’s on before you go: http://www2.fi.edu/

Outdoor Space
Fairmount Park – Super huge urban park that includes the river walks, a Japanese tea house, tons of other stuff: http://www.fairmountpark.org/
Clark Park – If you haven’t been out to West Philly, check it out. Big Victorian houses, trees, and this beautiful park with a Saturday market: http://www.clarkpark.info/
Rittenhouse Square – Great park for a picnic and people watching in the middle of Center City: http://www.visitphilly.com/museums-attractions/philadelphia/rittenhouse-square/
Piazza at Schmidts – A great option near the wedding. Games on the giant screen, a farmer’s market, vendors, restuarants, etc.: http://www.atthepiazza.com/

Artsy

(Highly Recommended!) Magic Gardens – Indescribably strange and beautiful world of glass mosiac and cool junk: http://www.phillymagicgardens.org/
Mural Arts Tour – We’re the city of murals and a trolley tour is a good way to see them: http://muralarts.org/tour
Institute for Contemporary Arts – If you’re like us, you don’t mind your art modern: http://www.icaphila.org/
Fabric Workshop – More modern stuff, see what’s on before you go: http://www.fabricworkshop.org/
Space 1026 – Same as above: http://space1026.com/

Keep checking back, we’ll add more as we think of it!
